Miss Bloom's Story
The seeds of Miss Bloom were sown way back in 2005, while I was studying for my masters’ degree in the Netherlands.
Many different kind of flowers that I had never seen before in my life were sold at the local flea market. I remember watching how those flowers were transformed into elegant bouquets in fascination. I used to go home to create my own bouquets with the flowers bought there. First my trips to the local flea market and efforts at home became a routine, shortly after it turned into my hobby, which I cherished and nurtured by attending several workshops.
After my studies, while sticking to my hobby in floral design, I started working as a private banker while sticking to my hobby. Negotiating my way through the global financial crisis, many times I felt lost in the system and unproductive in that line of work. When I started to question my interest and fidelity to my chosen profession, my hobby became even more precious to me.
Four years later, in the days leading to my own wedding in Turkey, I had difficulties in making the perfect bouquet for myself. I came to the conclusion that floral design in Turkey was a field needed much improvement and presented good opportunities. I was encouraged even more to pursue my dream.
After completing a certificate program from The Covent Garden Academy of Flowers, I quit my job in the Netherlands. I relocated to London and received training in McQueens; a very prestigious floral design house that caters to the Mulberry Fashion Show in London and the Post-Oscar Party in Los Angeles among others. After a professional training, I continued working at McQueens where I participated in projects for the Mulberry catwalk at the London Fashion Week, the British Fashion Awards and the Christmas Tree Installation at the Claridge’s Hotel in London, which was the subject of a BBC documentary.
Being a part of the McQueens team was an incredible experience. Now having created my own brand Miss-Bloom in İstanbul, I hope to share my experiences, my humble expertise and add color to your special days
